What is PosiPeople?
PosiPeople is an online, community-driven forum that aggregates and highlights content, products, and services that make a positive impact on society and the environment.

According to Robert McChesney in his book titled, The Problem of the Media, "high quality journalism will produce a well-informed and enlightened citizenry that will make wise public policy decisions". PosiPeople is interested promoting this type of content.

We have all heard the saying, "All it takes is one bad apple to ruin the whole bunch", but PosiPeople doesn't believe in the bad apple. Rather, we believe in all of the good apples that are still in the bunch.

PosiPeople applies this idea to content on the internet. It is increasingly difficult to find the "good apples" of internet content, but they are out there. PosiPeople helps its audience gather and highlight the content that makes or is about a positive impact on society and the environment. We are interested in the "good apples" of internet content and we encourage consumers and the industry to consume and create more of it.


How does PosiPeople work?
PosiPeople works as follows:

1) Any member of the community submits a link to the site that is related to positive social or environmental impact.

2) The community then votes for the content they like best.

3) Content that receives the most votes in a certain period of time is promoted to the main page of the site.

Content is then read by the majority of users on the main page of the site. But, users can also connect with other users by interacting with them; by viewing their profile page, sending them a message, or by adding them as a PosiPal.


What is PosiPeople's mission?
Positive Production. Positive People. Positive Planet.

Lasting social change is created by encouraging people to make responsible decisions in their lives; in the content they seek, products and services they buy, and people & organizations they support.

"Positive Production" means that we support content, products, and services that make a positive impact throughout their whole lifecycle; from the sourcing of its raw materials to its end disposal after it has been consumed. Additionally, we support content, products or services that promote the idea of reduce, reuse, renew, and recycle. We especially support products and services have a positive impact on the end user. (For example, consuming an organic apple is healthy for the end user because it contributes to their personal well being.)

"Positive People" means that we encourage people to support content, products, and services that make a positive impact on society and the environment. It also means that we encourage an attitude of positive impact in our lives; in our groups, neighborhoods, and communities. We also support a healthy populace and we want you to live a long and rewarding life.

"Positive Planet" means that we strive to create a planet that is in balance. Meaning, the planet's resources are harvested and replenished and that we live in an environment that is safe, clean, and healthy. We believe that a safe, clean, and healthy environment will pay dividends in the long run because it will provide for a sustainable future for all of us and generations to come.
