The Power of Superintelligence

Meta is formulating the launch of a new A.I. lab dedicated to discovering the depth of “superintelligence,” the super-powered technology designed to be smarter than the human brain. Meta has eased Alexandr Wang, the founder of A.I. company ScaleAI, into the developing program. Additionally, there has been some chatter that Meta is investing billions into ScaleAI so that further employees can contribute to this concept. 

The public is beginning to recognize this as Meta’s attempt to dive back into the competition after various failed trials. Since the release of OpenAI's ChatGPT back in 2022, the technological powerhouses have been warring for a new AI product. Google, Amazon, Meta, and Microsoft have all been in this race, and the pot is just beginning to brew. Microsoft has invested more than $13 billion into OpenAI, while Amazon trails behind at a whopping $8 billion into the A.I. start-up Anthropic.

However, this is not the first time that Meta has stepped into the world of artificial intelligence. The company's first-ever A.I. lab was officially opened back in 2013, but the success rates have been incredibly astounding compared to other competitors. This is why there is plenty of reason for them to step back onto home plate.

Back at the beginning of the year, Zuckerberg announced that “This year is going to set the course for the future.” Neither Meta nor ScaleAI returned the comment, but reports have risen of Wang’s merging with Meta. 

According to researchers, superintelligence is the primary goal for what AI could potentially be in the near future. While OpenAI, Google, and other platforms are currently listed as A.G.I. or “artificial general intelligence,” superintelligence would surpass all levels of this. Technically, superintelligence would go beyond what our human brains could do, opening a whole new world of enlightenment and curiosity. 

The world is in a constant state of innovation and creation, and A.I. is now becoming one of the most prevalent things in society. The developing technology is always in a state of revelation and renovation, meaning the imminent incorporation of it into everyday life is now. Whether or not the future of technology includes Meta depends on the next couple of months. This stage of primary construction is crucial for the corporation’s place in our ever-changing world, and what happens to them solely relies on this partnership with ScaleAI as a whole.
