When an Instacart driver was involved in an unfortunate car crash, they were left in a sticky situation. Not only was their car totaled, but their grocery order could not be completed. However, three generous souls decided to step up and complete the delivery. These three people were firemen.

Just a month ago, on January 9, 2026, a group of first responders from the Central and Pierce Fire & Rescue in Washington responded to a multi-car pile-up, and an interesting circumstance presented itself. A civilian involved with the crash was an Instacart driver, and they were incredibly distressed, not only about the crash, but also about their order. Thankfully, the driver was left unharmed, but the car was far beyond safe, drivable conditions. At that moment, instead of sitting aside, three firemen decided to take on the task of completing the delivery.

Originally, the kind firefighter's actions were in the dark; however, a bystander captured the moment and decided to post about it on Meta (Facebook). The post received a decent amount of views and interactions, which brought the firefighters’ acts to the national stage. “It was a small gesture that made a big difference for a grateful community member and a reminder that serving our community sometimes means going beyond emergency response,” read the post, and that is exactly what it was.

In the end, choices like the one the firefighters made should remind everyone of the importance of small acts of kindness. Whether it is holding the door for someone or delivering their Instacart order after a car accident, following through with being a good citizen is incredibly significant. Just imagine the world if everyone did a singular act of kindness today. That would be about 8 billion acts of kindness that would shape the world into a new reality filled with positivity and altruism.
